Doing a family gathering. I spent $100 for sides, but my brother was supposed to provide the meat and hasn't. So, I picked up 2 small roasts, my daughter bought chicken and ham. I hope it's enough for 10 people. Perturbs me that people don't follow through with their plans. It was his idea to come over. I want them to meet my boyfriend today. We've been dating for a month. After so many years alone, I felt it was good to schmooze with my relatives. Wish me luck. I haven't had time to prep anything.

So, dinner happened..in stages. My daughter came late. I had enough beef for everyone, but no leftovers. Well, enough for some lunch for my boyfriend. I attempted to do a pot roast, but ran out of time. The carrots were piddly, parsnips; only 4 in a bag..pfft. (I need to go to the market) I was trying to keep food warm for everyone, but they all came just before dinner. It was a total shi*t show. My brother, who ditched me for food, who was demanding to know when we were eating, when everyone was coming, if we have anything and if he needed to bring anything..got hammered and became a total a$$ hat. fml. How to make things worse, his kids left and we didn't really get to visit. My boyfriend barely met my daughter, and now I'm left reeling after a complete disaster. Glad my mom didn't come into this. I'm doing this again with just him, his kids, and my mom and daughter.
Thankfully, my bf is a decent man and didn't think too much about the situation and brushed it off. His poor son..glad the other two weren't here too. They didn't need to see that. -.-
did he respond to not getting the meat or is he just pretending he never offered or how's that playing out?
