So I was talking to a real live somolia pirate and I asked him what the deal was with somolialand; he said it was like Quebec, that they wanted to break off.

You talked to a real Somali pirate about Somaliland and came back with “it’s like Quebec”—that’s not geopolitics, that’s a fever dream with a parrot. Get a second source, captain; confidence looks good on you, but accuracy would look even better.

Does he consider himself to be the Somoliand Coast Guard?
just to clarify - i tried to get him to elaborate a bit but either due to his (or my) disinterest, or his poor language skills he just went silent and i couldn't get him to talk more.
Did you try water boarding him? I heard that often gets them to talk.
